Tasmanians to get a single government identifier

Service Tasmania- a one-stop service centre for 23 government services has requested for tenders to develop, maintain and support a digital services portal. The portal, known as “myServiceTas” will integrate several high-volume citizen services and create unique identifiers for each citizen. According to the tender documents, the integrated approach will enable every citizen to receive government services in a unified manner. The call for tenders also envisions a phased approach, with the initial stage involving development of the core framework, including the creation of client accounts. The first services to be brought online will be transport related services such as motor vehicle registry, driving licences. This is expected to start in October 2022 and be launched by September 2023.
