USAID promotes agriculture modernisation through innovative technologies in Pakistan

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) convened a conference on Modernising Agriculture through Innovative Technologies on 15 January 2020 in Hyderabad, Pakistan. The conference aimed at showcasing the transformational impact of the U.S.-Pakistan partnership to advance agricultural commercialisation in Pakistan through strategic partnerships with 30 dynamic agricultural technologies businesses. The first-ever conference was also held as part of the USAID’s four-year Pakistan Agricultural Technology Transfer Activity (PATTA) that helps Pakistani farmers improve productivity and enhance competitiveness through enabling the private sector to provide them with access to innovative agricultural products and management practices. ‘The future of agricultural development in Pakistan is enterprise-driven. Deepening collaboration with private enterprises will forge mutually beneficial ventures and tackle challenges. Working together, we can embrace modernity in the agriculture sector with trailblasing products and services, and good agricultural management practices. Greater impact cannot be achieved alone,’ highlighted USAID/Pakistan’s Acting Mission Director Clay W. Epperson.
