US Intelligence Director: cyber attack on US critical infrastructure a growing possibility

The Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats cautioned there is a growing possibility of a crippling cyber attack on US critical infrastructure. Coats stated Russia, China, Iran and North Korea are launching daily cyber strikes on the computer networks of US government agencies, corporations, and academic institutions. Coats likened these cyber attacks to the “alarming activities” detected before September 11 attacks, saying the “warning lights are blinking red again”.
