UN Human Rights Body condemns US use of racist language
The Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent has urged the USA to ‘take swift and decisive action’ to curb the use of racist and violent language in the country’s political discourse. The working group explained that ‘The United States must recognise the direct impact that racism, xenophobia and intolerance have in promoting violence and in creating fear and instability in ethnic and religious minority communities.’. This statement came after the mass shootings in Texas and Ohio (USA) happened in early August.
