South Africa: Information Regulator releases Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 (PAIA) in eleven languages
The South African Information Regulator has published its Guide on how to use the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 (PAIA) in each of South Africa’s eleven official languages, including, Afrikaans, English, isiNdebele, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, Siswati, Tshivenda and Xitsonga in line with the principles of universal access to information.
The PAIA Guide has been released to fulfil the Information Regulator’s obligation as set out in Section 10 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2. The PAIA Guide acts as a tool to help citizens in their interpretation and use of the provisions of PAIA in exercising their constitutional right to access to information.
