Singapore to block Internet for civil servants

Singapore will block access to the Internet on the work computers of its public servants from May 2017. The reason for the measure is to prevent ‘potential leaks from work e-mails and shared documents amid heightened security threats.’ Singapore has experienced several incidents of cyberattacks, including a hacking of the prime minister’s official website in 2013. The decision has been met with much scepticism from the Singaporean population.
