Saudi ministry issues digital cards for people with autism, disabilities

Saudi Ministry introduces digital cards for individuals with autism and disabilities, granting priority services in public places and reduced travel fees. The initiative aims to facilitate easier access to essential services and transportation for cardholders. Public encouraged to download the apps from the Ministry’s website to benefit from the services.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has launched two digital cards to benefit persons with autism and persons with disabilities.

The “Digital Autism” card, will help facilitate movement of the card holders in public places, provide them access to priority services e.g. when visiting hospitals, healthcare centers and other public facilities.

On the other hand, the “Digital Erkab” card meant for persons with disabilities, will grant the card holders and their escorts preferential allowance in their ticket fares and travel fees while using public transportation , this may go as high as deducting  50% of the travel fare depending on the degree of disability.
