Sales of 3-D-printed gun files continue debate on freedom of expression

Citing motivation of freedom of expression, Cody Wilson is selling copies of his 3D-printed gun files on a flash drive within the USA. In this way, he considers that he is complying with a US federal court order forbidding international publishing of the files. The company Defense Distributed previously gave the files away worldwide, for free. The files were also available in a book sold online by Amazon.com, but the book has since been removed. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has explained the background and their position on how this affects freedom of speech and what it terms ‘government unchecked power to censor technical speech online’.
