New version of the draft EU Council position on the ePrivacy regulation

According to Politico Pro, the Finnish presidency of the Council of the EU has published a new draft version of the ePrivacy regulation. According to IAPP, this new draft text comes after Germany published a position paper indicating it could not accept the regulation as it stands due to a lack of protections for the confidentiality of communications, which are covered in Article 6. The proposal for the ePrivacy regulation was launched in 2017 by the European Commission, following the adoption of the GDPR.
