Mobile ICUs open in India to tackle COVID-19

Royal Philips announced that it introduced mobile intensive care units (ICUs) in India to address the mounting needs of critical-care services as COVID-19 cases soar. Mobile ICUs are self-sufficient and only require an on-site electricity and water connection to be operational. Each mobile ICU is pre-equipped with the latest critical-care infrastructure (e.g. independent patient cubicles, antibacterial paint, and washrooms with a self-disinfection facility) and can be furnished with a range of medical equipment accordingly in line with a hospital’s need. General Manager of Philips India Daniel Mazon said that mobile ICUs will support India to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in an effective manner, while playing a significant role as a long-term solution to address future critical-care needs.
