MIT OEPI final report released: online education as a catalyst for higher education reform

MIT’s Online Education Policy Initiative published its final report on ‘Online education: a catalyst for higher education reforms’. It outlines the implications of online learning for higher education from a multidisciplinary perspective, looks at policy implications, and charts possibilities for implementing reforms. The executive summary focuses on four concrete recommendations for the future of online learning and higher education reform: increasing interdisciplinary collaboration, online education as a facilitator in higher education, supporting the emerging profession of ‘online engineers’, and institutional and organisational change to support reforms.
