Meta has partnered with Digify Africa to launch DigifyPro, an online digital marketing skills course in Kenya. The initiative aims to enhance digital literacy among Kenyan youth, equipping them with critical skills for the digital economy. Supported by Meta, the program utilises a scalable blended-learning approach for a more practical training program in different digital marketing aspects. The focus is on closing the digital literacy gap in Kenya and helping the people, as well as organisations, thrive in the new digital economy.

Limited digital literacy levels, despite relatively wide internet access in Kenya, are acutely affecting its economic growth and job opportunities for the youth, which DigifyPro seeks to correct. Digify Africa is operational in over ten African countries and has been recognised as a vital route towards education, employment and empowerment for Africa’s youth, winning the BookMark Award for the most pivotal contribution to South Africa’s burgeoning digital sector.

Why does it matter?

The partnership between Meta and Digify Africa addresses the pressing need to boost digital literacy among the African youth. Kenya is one of the ten fastest-growing digital economies in the world, and yet, despite numerous new digital skills projects led by the Kenyan government, the private sector and international partners, the digital skills sector receives too little attention and funding.
