Japan announced deliberations on international standards for mobile-based identity management
Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has announced deliberations on international standards for identity management using mobile devices, with an aim to have international standardisation by 2022. Japan plans to develop an identity management system that is similar to a passport or driving licence system, and will accurately identify and verify individuals.
