India releases guidelines for e-content for children with disabilities
India published a set of comprehensive guidelines for the development of e-content for children with disabilities. The wide range of essential components and technical standards will help make content more inclusive for children with disabilities including intellectual, physical, and learning disabilities, as well as multiple disabilities and others. The Guidelines for the Development of e-Content for Children with Disabilities is based on four principles: perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
The guidelines provide for new textbooks that may be published in accessible digital format so that they are ‘born accessible’.
