GSMA opens application for ‘bridging the mobile gender gap’ online course
GSMA launched a call for participation in a free online course on ‘bridging the mobile gender gap’ which tackles the background of issues and focuses on strategies that can be used to help close the mobile gender gap. The target group of the four-week course is regulators, policymakers, and representatives from academia and international organisations working on regulatory or policy issues. The course aims at helping them: (a) understand the context via gender-disaggregated data on Internet access and use; (b) learn how barriers such as access, affordability, safety, digital skills and availability of locally relevant content can be addressed; (c) discover how gender perspectives can be integrated into strategies, policies, plans, and budgets so they explicitly address women’s needs, circumstances, and preferences. The course will start on 27 August 2020.
