Government requests for Amazon user data increased 800% in 2020
According to TechCrunch, figures released by Amazon show an 800% increase in requests for user data made by governmental authorities. Amazon ‘processed 27,664 government requests for user data’ during the second half of 2020, with Germany making the highest proportion of requests at 42%, followed by Spain with 18%, and Italy and the USA with 11% each.
