Finnish and Singaporean entities to cooperate on quantum technologies

Finnish and Singaporean entities have agreed to advance cooperation on quantum technologies research and development.

The National Quantum Office (NQO) of Singapore, the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, IQM Quantum Computers, and CSC – IT Centre for Science have concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in quantum technologies research and development (R&D). Cooperation areas will include quantum technology hardware components, algorithms, and applications, quantum-accelerated high-performance computing, and satellite quantum communications. The exchange of knowledge on national roadmaps for quantum technologies is also envisioned. NQO – part of Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research – is responsible for developing and executing the country’s National Quantum Strategy. VTT and IQM Quantum Computers are working together on building Finland’s first 54-qubit quantum computer. CSC – IT Centre for Science is a Finnish centre of expertise in ICT.
