Egypt establishes 1st infrastructure to provide IoT services
Telecom Egypt announced a cooperation agreement with Nokia Corporation to establish the first infrastructure in Egypt to provide internet of things (IoT) services through Nokia’s global network (WING). Within this cooperation, Telecom Egypt will provide IoT services to companies on a global scale and help them to benefit from the growing IoT market based on the Nokia model. The WING would further enable Telecom Egypt to provide global IoT service at low local prices compared to the more expensive roaming rates. Additionally, the cooperation covers the launch of joint marketing initiatives and the development of IoT projects in the country aiming at supporting the automation of projects and helping companies reduce their operating expenses, enhance productivity, and bring new services to market.
