Cyberspace Administration China closed down 200 websites and 6000 social media accounts

The Cyber Administration of China (CAG) has declared that it has shut down more than 200 websites it considered illegal, as well as 6000 accounts from social media platforms. Reasons for the banned websites and accounts range from allegations of pornography to gambling and disseminating terrorist ideology. The CAG furthermore asked the public to help find illegal content and report it, promising rewards for useful tips.
