Cisco has to pay $8.6 million for selling vulnerable software to US government.

Cisco has settled a legal case against its subcontractor NetDesign which claimed he found security flaws in Cisco’s multi-software package in 2011, ZDNet reported. The Cisco’s Video Surveillance Manager could be used to control video surveillance cameras, to store recorded video feeds, and allow operators to manipulate camera-recorded videos. Cisco has failed to patch the bugs and continued to sell its VSM package to customers, including the US government.
