ESDR 2020 highlights digital transformation as an SDG priority inside the EU
The Europe Sustainable Development Report (ESDR) published jointly by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Institute – European Environmental Policy listed digital transformation as a sustainable development goal (SDG) priority inside the EU. In this context, the report endorses the development of cutting-edge digital infrastructure, innovation, and the protection of citizen data rights and European democracy. The document also highlights the role that EU companies should play in the digital revolution in order to allow the region to maintain its high living standards. In addition to the critical needs that have been identified by the EU Commission, the report specifies that more ambition is required to further digital transformation.
