Zoom privacy settings allow for online abuses and spark new privacy concerns

The coronavirus outbreak has led to a stark increase in the use of the videoconferencing tool Zoom. According to the Guardian, trolls are now taking advantage of Zoom privacy setting to broadcast explicit  and malicious content in public Zoom hangouts. Having become a popular way to spend time for isolated remote workers, these conversations are now increasingly used by uninvited guests to broadcast shocking content.  Zoom privacy settings have also been recently criticized, after Vice News reported that the service’s iOS app was sending analytics data to Facebook, even if users did not have a Facebook account.
