YouTube and Google Play suspend payment-based services in Russia

YouTube and Google Play have announced the suspension of payment-based services in Russia, including subscriptions, as sanctions begin to pose banking challenges in the country. YouTube channels in Russia will still be able to garner revenue from viewers outside of Russia via adverts and premium features. Fee applications on Google Play are still accessible in Russia.

Google and Google-owned YouTube previously restricted RT and Sputnik mobile apps from its Play store, and Russian media from its news-related features.
