In light of plans made by the National Skills Fund of South Africa (SA) to launch a digital skills package targeting unemployed youths in the country, President Cyril Ramphosa forecasts blue skies for the future of the country’s ICT sector. The initiative goes hand in hand with efforts made over the last five years to boost SA’s digital economy and, by extension its global competitiveness. It also addresses some of the operational challenges the sector has long been facing.

Altogether, this project, which is made possible with the combined pledges to the tune of R200 billion made by companies as of the last South African Investment Conference (SAIC), promises significant returns in areas such as job creation, innovation and progress.
