World Bank report: Internet can help in the provision of global public goods

The newly released 2016 World Development Report refers to the Internet as both a subject of co-operation and a new tool to facilitate co-operation in other realms. One such realm is the provision of global public goods, which requires co-operation and massive amounts of information. The report suggests that the Internet can help realise quests such as providing global public goods. The Internet can also help muster global information which is essential in addressing many global problems – information which is also believed to be a global public good in itself.
