Whistleblower makes a public appeal for an investigation into Apple’s practices

Thomas le Bonniec, an Apple contractor who transcribed Siri recordings, published a letter stating Apple’s lack of ethical management of personal data. In a letter sent to European data protection authorities, he stressed that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is not enforced upon privacy offenders enough. Whereas Apple apologised for unethical practices that violate user privacy, le Bonniec pointed out that their devices gather massive amounts of sensitive data and urged European regulators and watchdogs to investigate Apple’s practices.
