U.S. – EU Cyber Dialogue: Agreement on security, governance, human rights and capacity building

During the second U.S.-EU Cyber Dialogue, held in Washington on 7 December, participants agreed on the following areas of cooperation:

  • Cybersecurity, including the application of existing international law and confidence building measures.
  • Internet governance and the value of the IGF, the NETmundial roadmap, IANA transition and ICANN accountability.
  • Human rights online and an Internet free from censorship or attack
  • Capacity building and the need to bridge the digital divide, mentioning the Global Forum for Cyber Expertise as key actor among capacity building initiatives.
