UNCTAD published the Trade and Development Report 2018

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development published its flagship report on the state of the world’s economic system under the title: Trade and Development Report 2018: Power, Platforms and the Free Trade Delusion. The report tackles the global economy trends and challenges for developing countries, the trade patterns under hyperglobalization, the economic development in the digital world and the relevant policies to facilitate the integration into the digital economy, and the infrastructure development as a real force for structural transformation in developing countries. It reinforces the importance of new regulatory policy and international technology transfer for developing countries to be able to catch up with the technological revolution and to be part of the global digital economy. It further examines policy measures required for digitalization and the new regulatory policy challenges in the digital economy.
