UK Issues privacy information notice for biometrics self-enrolment trials

The UK’s Home Office has issued a privacy information notice for biometrics self-enrolment trials. This is in line with plans to collect biometrics of foreigners applying for visas. The number of foreign nationals applying for visas is set to increase following the UK’s exit from the European Union.

The privacy notice outlines the data to be collected, purposes for which the data will be collected, as well as the companies which will have access to the data. The notice is issued as a requirement of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
