UK government reveals COVID-19 data deals

The UK government has released agreements under which personal health data was transferred to technology firms for COVID-19 related analysis. This follows notice of a lawsuit by the media organisation OpenDemocracy and the law firm Foxglove which sought access to information on the contracts. The firms involved include Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Faculty, and Palantir. OpenDemocracy has published the contracts on its website and is now seeking data protection impact assessments undertaken prior to the signing of the contracts.
