UK government announces the winners of the consumer IoT assurance schemes grant

The UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport published the winners of consumer IoT assurance schemes grant. The three recipients of the grant have piloted separate assurance schemes that explore different aspects of consumer IoT. They are: (1) the internet of toys assurance scheme which combines cybersecurity standards with the data protection requirements of the age-appropriate design code for children under 18, (2) the smart TV cyber security assurance which detects specific security vulnerabilities in smart TVs, and (3) the IASME IoT security assured which is based on self-assessment and review by an assessor, creating an accessible means for small businesses to show their commitment to protecting consumers from cyber threats.
