UK creates new regulation for video-sharing platforms

The Ofcom, UK’s communications regulations, has published new regulations concerning video-sharing platforms (VSPs). The new regulatory regime aims at protecting consumers who engage with VSPs from the risk of having access to harmful content. Providers of video-sharing services must implement appropriate measures to protect young users from content that might be harmful to their physical, mental or moral development. Moreover, the general public might also be protected from criminal content and publications that might incite violence or hatred.
