Twitter suspends Republican lawmaker for Covid misinformation
Twitter suspended the Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from the platform for 12 hours after she tweeted content that violated the policy against misleading information about the Covid-19. In her tweets, Greene posted that Covid-19 was not dangerous for people unless they were obese or over age 65. In addition, she said vaccines should not be required. The platform said that her tweets were misinformation. Greene has been against vaccines and masks as solutions to curb the pandemic, according to the New York Times. Currently, in Georgia, the state she represents, new cases of Covid increased 193% in the past two weeks.
