TikTok sale postponed indefinitely
The sale of TikTok’s American operations from Chinese ByteDance to US companies Oracle Corp. and Walmart Inc. based on the executive order of former President Trump has been shelved indefinitely, according to the Wall Street Journal. TikTok was declared a threat to US national security for its data collection practices under the previous administration. President Biden’s administration now determines its policies and undertakes a review of potential security threats from Chinese tech companies.
