Switzerland, Sweden and the UK lead WIPO’s Innovation Index

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Cornell University and Insead have released their annual Global Innovation Index. The index, headed by Switzerland, is measured by the strength of institutions, human capital and research, infrastructure, market and business sophistication, knowledge and technology outputs, and creative outputs. Key findings include that innovation can avoid a continued low-growth scenario, but that at the same time, divides remain. Furthermore, there is a need for ‘fresh governance frameworks’, and an ‘outward-looking’ approach.
