Succesful evaluation of an IDN ccTLD string in Cyrillic for the European Union

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced the succesful evaluation of another IDN ccTLD: the Cyrillic version of the already existing .eu (the ccTLD for the European Union). With this, IDN requests from a total of 38 countries/territories have successfully passed through the String Evaluation stage. Of these, 31 countries/territories (represented by 41 IDN ccTLDs) are delegated in the DNS root zone, with the remainder either readying to apply, or actively applying for delegation of the string. Details here (Note: IDN stands for Internationalised Domain Name, while a ccTLD is a country-code top level domain.)
