Singapore to set up a new e-waste collection system in 2021

According to Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA), a new e-waste collection system that is meant to include scheduled collection and ad-hoc doorstep collection services. Collection services will be operated by the Alba Group, an international waste management company that will start its operations on 1 July 2021 and will remain responsible for e-waste collection until the summer of 2026. This measure is part of Singapore’s extended producer responsibility scheme for e-waste management and places the responsibility of dealing with e-waste on companies that manufacture or import electronic devices in Singapore.
