Records of indigenous languages lost in Brazil museum fire

Audio recordings of indigenous languages that are no longer spoken were lost in Brazil’s museum fire. It is unknown whether the texts and sound archives, some of which may be irreplaceable, have been digitised. The importance of the museum’s contents as ‘vital for scientific research‘ has been emphasised.
