NIST calls for public consultation on energy sector IIoT security

The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and its National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) issued a notice asking organisations to provide products and technical expertise to support and demonstrate security platforms for securing industrial Internet of things (IIoT) used in the energy sector. The notice is an attempt to form a collaboration between the NCCoE and technology companies in dealing with cybersecurity challenges related to protecting IIoT networks that are used in distributed energy resource operations. The deadline for input is 7 November 7 2019. The notice follows the publication of a draft project that deals with the challenges of securing IIoTs in the energy sector.
