Nigeria’s country code top level domain (ccTLD) reaches 100.000 registrations

On 12 0ctober, the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) revealed that the adoption and use of the ccTLD .ng has reached 100 000 registrations.  The increase in registrations is owing to the decrease in demand for foreign domain names by both individuals and businesses in Nigeria, who now prefer to host their services at home. The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) was concerned about the increase in demand for foreign domain names in the past, which caused high capital flight.
