New online toolkit to advance human rights speech development and communication
The Council of Europe (CoE) has launched a new online toolkit to facilitate the use of ‘counter and alternative narratives to promote human rights and democratic principles that push back against hate speech and discriminatory narratives’. The toolkit, developed through the “WE CAN for human rights speech” project equips human rights defenders with easy to use tools, checklists and resources. The toolkit adopts a step-by-step approach to analyse the best reaction to hate speech, develop rights speech messages and adopt best communication strategies to ensure proper reach.
