Melita in Malta plans €50 million investment for fixed broadband upgrades

Melita, a telecommunications company in Malta, is earmarking €50 million for significant upgrades to its fixed broadband infrastructure.

Malta’s telecommunications provider, Melita, has announced its plans to invest €50 million ($54 million) in enhancing its fixed broadband infrastructure to facilitate download speeds of up to 10Gbps. Melita CEO, Harald Roesch revealed these plans, emphasizing that the investment will be spread over the course of seven years.

‘Melita is pushing for faster Internet speeds, even though current home hardware may not fully utilize these speeds, because it is preparing its network for future advancements like AI and other emerging applications,’ explained Roesch, emphasizing Melita’s proactive approach to meet evolving technology demands.
