Mapping government digital and data accessibility

As accessibility issues gather momentum, it is important to define the common roles that collectively constitute the profession. A two-year research done by the UK government from February 2020 to November 2021 for over two years, revealed that 99% of public sector websites contained accessibility issues representing a potential problem for users with different disabilities, constituting a breach of new regulatory requirements.
“Work has begun to scope the roles and supporting framework in anticipation of approval. This work will build on the work already done to establish a roles framework for digital accessibility professionals at the Home Office.” said Minister for Safeguarding Rachael Maclean.
