Malaysia’s Central Bank has revealed a Discussion Paper introducing the Financial Inclusion Framework 2023-2026, aimed at enhancing digital financial inclusion in the country to enhance citizens’ economic well-being and quality of life, while aligning with the Financial Sector Blueprint 2022-2026 and sustainability goals.

Malaysia’s Central Bank, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), has released a discussion paper on its proposed Financial Inclusion Framework 2023-2026. The Framework outlines a plan to improve digital financial inclusion in Malaysia, increasing citizens’ economic well-being and quality of life. While implementing the previous Financial Inclusion Framework of 2011-2020 led to improved access to financial services, further progress is needed. The proposed Framework is developed to align with BNM’s Financial Sector Blueprint 2022-2026. It considers UN sustainable development goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) propositions.
