Local language content will result in a 39% Internet user growth in India, report finds
The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has released a report titled ‘Proliferation of Indian Languages on Internet‘. According to the report, the addition of local language content on the Internet will lead to an increase in the Internet user base of 39%. Local language content has been on the rise and over the last year, Hindi content has grown by about 94%. Still, challenges remain, related to technical difficulties of using Indian scripts and the low level of user-generated local content available.
