ITU and EaPeReg join forces to strengthen impact of ICT on sustainable development

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network (EaPeReg) to collaborate in the area of information and communications technology (ICT). Through this agreement, global and regional perspectives on the subject matter will be exchanged via EaPeReg’s enhanced participation in relevant regional regulatory and economic meetings, ITU study groups, and focus groups, as well as the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector’s (ITU-D) flagship event, the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR). Additionally, it will uphold the implementation of the ITU Regional Initiatives for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) that promotes an enabling policy and regulatory environment conducive to sustainable telecommunication/ICT development.
