Israeli surveillance company sues Facebook over privacy violations

Current and former employees of Israeli surveillance company NSO Group have launched legal action against Facebook in Israel to have their Facebook accounts reinstated after being banned by the social media platform. In October, Facebook had sued NSO in California for using a vulnerability in on WhatsApp to develop surveillance programs and hack targets. According to Vice, Facebook also banned the personal Facebook and Instagram accounts of multiple current and former NSO employees, a decision that is now challenged before a tribunal in Tel-Aviv. The lawsuit argues that the data used to identify them as NSO employees was private and could not be used by Facebook.
