India joined a UK-led campaign against encrypted social media platforms, which also includes Japan and the ‘Five Eyes’ group of nations (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK).. In a joint international statement addressed to tech companies, they urged the companies not to overlook illegal activities including the sharing of child abuse content on their platforms.
