IBM makes quantum computing available for anyone to test

IBM has announced that it is making quantum computing available for anyone to test. The company has built a quantum processor that users can access through a quantum computing platform delivered via the IBM cloud service onto any desktop or mobile device. The cloud enabled service, called IBM Quantum Experience, will allow users to run algorithms and experiments on IBM’s quantum processor, work with the individual qubits, and explore tutorials and simulations around what might be possible with quantum computing. Cnet explains that ‘unlike regular computers that process information in 1s and 0s, quantum computers are more powerful because they use qubits, which process 1s and 0s at the same time, rapidly speeding up processing capability.’
