GPT-5 set for August launch, promises integrated AI models
GPT-5 aims to streamline its offerings by incorporating existing technologies, moving towards comprehensive AI systems capable of handling diverse tasks.

According to sources familiar with the company’s plans, AI leader OpenAI is reportedly set to launch its highly anticipated GPT-5 model as early as August.
Rather than a singular AI model, the new system is expected to incorporate distinct models, enabling it to perform a wider array of functions.
OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, indicated in February that GPT-5 would integrate its o3 model and other technologies to streamline the company’s offerings.
The long-term goal is to merge the O-series and GPT-series models, creating comprehensive AI systems capable of utilising all available tools and handling diverse tasks.
While an early August debut appears likely, OpenAI’s release dates frequently adjust due to development challenges, server capacity, or even announcements and leaks from rival AI models. OpenAI has not yet provided an official comment on the reported launch timeline.
